Authentic, Courageous, and Inspired Leadership: Lessons from the Trenches

As higher education leaders grapple with profoundly complex and often contentious issues, we must be mindful of the challenges of leadership amid the deep polarity and tumult of our times. To affect learning and growth in those we serve, we must ensure our influence as campus leaders comes from a core of understanding, knowledge, compassion, justice, and inclusion. In this talk, Sturdivant discusses leadership at the intersection of identity, authenticity, courage, and inspiration; how it has defined his leadership journey; and the hard-earned lessons that continue to inform his practice.
