Abstract
The explosive growth of coaching as the dominant leadership development practice over the past two decades continues and shows no sign of slowing. However, greater attention to how leadership coaching works is necessary. This session engages participants in reflecting on findings from a recent qualitative study of how leadership coaching transforms the leadership identity of young professionals over time. The session reveals original descriptions of five general coaching interactions and a framework for leader-identify development. This session is for leadership researchers, educators, and practitioners alike.
