Abstract
The Young Women’s Leadership Institute is a cohort-based program that exposes students to strong women leaders and intentional curriculum and experiences to explore and build their leadership potential. This 14-day program includes discussions with female leaders from diverse fields, backgrounds, and immersive experiences in North Carolina. The curriculum focuses on foundational leadership concepts, critical thinking, problem-solving, goal setting, communication, ethics, integrity, equity and inclusion, and cultural competence. In this session, the presenter will share the impetus and goals for the program, including the creation and implementation, and updates made in year two, as we look forward to continually improving the program to address the evolving nature of leadership for young women. This session will also address the possibilities for partnerships between K-12 and higher educational institutions, as we continue to develop collaborative relationships and success pipelines.
