Abstract
If you can’t seem to recruit and retain students for immersive leadership programs these days, you’re not alone. Many leadership educators, regardless of their institutional type, size, and student demographics, continue to find that pre-pandemic programming strategies aren’t yielding the registration numbers and depth of commitment that maximize their programs’ potential. The presenters in this session will discuss five components of immersive leadership programming: schedule design, experience transparency, recruitment, retention, and student motivation. Through the context of LeaderShape campus partnerships, this session features perspectives from LeaderShape staff who see recruitment and retention trends across a wide range of campus partners and campus-based leadership educators who implement the five strategies. Participants in this session are encouraged to share what is and isn’t working in their own programming approaches and learn from others who are finding recruitment and retention success.
