Abstract
St. Charles Community College’s Be Ready Program guides students through the admissions process, from application to placement testing to orientation and registration. To help support students, SCCC implemented a family engagement strategy that includes a parent portal, emails, text messages, and FERPA-compliant access to important student records. By “turning parents into partners”, SCCC has seen a 71% increase in new student applications, smoother placement tests, and major time savings across the Be Ready Program.
