Abstract
Today’s educational leaders need tools for engaging and developing leadership in others. As new generations of leaders in our field prepare to take the reins, where will they look for inspiration? Popular culture’s influence over the last half-century has grown as access to niche subcultures is increasingly available across the world. In this session, the presenters will discuss harnessing the power of graphic novels and visual literacy to make leadership education more visceral, impactful, representational, and inclusive. Additionally, the presenters will also focus on using graphic novels as a medium for examining and thinking critically about how students consume, internalize, and normalize information as aspiring leaders.
