Abstract
Leader development is complex, and it is, perhaps, naïve to think standalone interventions/one-time events could produce significant behavioral changes/developmental impact (Day & Dragoni, 2015; Day & Liu, 2019; Day et al., 2021; Wallace et al., 2021). Effective leadership training uses a needs analysis, feedback, multiple delivery methods (especially practice), spaced training sessions, off-site locations, and uses face-to-face delivery that is not self administered (Salas et al., 2012). This workshop will share how one university learned from a failed leader development training and saw success after including an increased number of delivery methods and extension approaches.
