Abstract

The presenters will share strategies for building empathy through identity interconnections (Ashlee & Combs, 2022), focusing on the experiences of multiracial individuals and transracial adoptees. Participants will engage in interactive discussions, case studies, and collaborative exercises to explore these identities, foster mutual understanding, and challenge neoliberal socialization in higher education. This session is ideal for graduate students and new professionals seeking to enhance social justice practices and foster inclusive spaces.
