Abstract

Assistant/Associate Vice Presidents for Student Affairs (AVPs) face unique challenges and opportunities in their role. Among the challenges are how to effectively adapt to the shifting landscape of student needs, navigate politics, supervise multi-generational staff, lead change, and implement the vision of the VPSA. Opportunities include developing and mentoring staff, implementing innovative practices, and helping shape the future of the profession. This pre-conference session will explore the critical competencies required to lead well.
