14452 - Transforming Texas, Inspiring the Nation: Strategic Implementation of Campus-Wide Mental Health Initiatives

Abstract: 

Student mental health is in the spotlight in Texas due to recent legislative changes. University of Houston (UH) has strengthened systems of care across their institution by creating a cross-campus team to engage in mental health strategic planning, leverage data, and provide postvention following tragedy. In this presentation, Student Affairs leadership and JED Campus Advisors will share insights and effective strategies implemented at UH through their JED Campus Initiative to address the mental health crisis and inspire nationwide change.
