Suicide is a major concern among college students, with 15% of undergraduates and 9% of graduate students considering suicide in the past year. Marginalized groups face additional barriers to mental health services, and experience higher rates of attempted suicide. This presentation introduces an innovative approach to suicide prevention by examining it through a cultural context lens and will feature a first-of-its-kind video-based training module designed for students, faculty, and staff in higher education.
