Abstract
The presenters will share how Black women students and staff perceive their experiences in predominantly White institutions based on the findings of two qualitative research studies and various literature sources. They will further discuss the persistence and self-preservation strategies employed by Black women at PWIs that are centered on self-efficacy, cultural capital, and community. The program will conclude with recommendations for inclusionary practices institutions can adopt to support Black women's academic and professional success.
