Abstract
Our qualitative exploration of residential students’ Sense of Belonging among our predominately first-generation college population gives voice to student stories and provides clues to how Belonging develops. Data collected in a 2023 Resident Student Survey were coded and analyzed, illuminating the role of engagement and inclusivity. Participants will engage in discussion of the major themes, prompting reflection about their campus environment, relationships and engagement opportunities as domains where Sense of Belonging can be cultivated.
