Abstract
In 1966, at the NASPA Annual Conference, members voted to expand membership to include community colleges. It would, however, be more than decade before a NASPA president was a community college professional. George W. Young, from Broward Community College, was the 1979-1980 NASPA President (now Board Chair). Over time, NASPA developed and evolved its community college-focused organizational structures from the Community and Two-Year College Network, established in 1989, to the Community Colleges Division, which began in 2007.
